Ásbrú Transport and communications

There are great opportunities tied to Ásbrú’s location so close to Keflavik Airport and the large vessel harbour at Helguvík. Most major airports in Europe are crowded and have very limited room to expand. At Ásbrú there are, however, vast tracts of unused land which can be developed for transport related operations. Thus the central position between the three continents, Europe, North America, and Asia, can be put to good use.

Keilir School of Transport and Security is divided into an aviation academy and a security academy. Keilir Aviation Academy offers a diverse range of aviation related courses, such as courses for Private- and Commercial Pilot Licences, courses for Director of Flight Operations, courses for Cabin Crews, and Air Traffic Control courses. The Keilir Security Academy offers courses for medical transports and several other courses and seminars, but it is also developing a study course for security in a very literal sense. There is great emphasis on modern teaching methods and teaching environment, but the schools location offers a unique chance for both aviation related studies as well as security related studies.
